A Journey Through Your Developmental Cycles
A gentle look at the needs each season of your life met — or didn't.
Based on the “Ages and Stages” model from Growing Up Again by Jean Illsley Clarke & Connie Dawson and “Cycles of Power” by Pamela Levin
Introduction
Life unfolds in cycles. Each stage of development comes with specific needs and learning tasks — and when we move through a stage with enough support, we internalise the beliefs and capacities it was designed to build. When we don't, because of circumstances, illness, trauma, or simply a lack of attuned caregiving, we carry those unmet needs forward into adult life.
This questionnaire is an invitation to gently explore your own journey through those stages. It can help you notice your unique strengths, understand the roots of current challenges, and recognise the support your “inner child” may still need. It's perfectly okay if you don't remember everything — the feelings and impressions that come up are just as important as the memories.
For each statement, select the response that best reflects your experience or feelings. Answer with your first impressions — there are no right or wrong answers, only honest ones.
This journey is not about blame or finding fault; it's about discovery and recovery.
A gentle note: this is a self-reflection tool, not a test or a diagnosis. Some questions touch on childhood memories and may stir up feelings. Go at your own pace, skip breaks if you need them, and if anything feels heavy, support is always available — Tele-MANAS 14416 (24/7, free).
